BEST PRACTICE FOR C/Es TO CHANGE LCV

Image
It is important once bunkers samples analysis results are available to prompt C/Es to alter the Low Calorific Value (LCV) on M/E's settings assuring better combustion efficiency, in case of fuel changeover. The Low Calorific Value is a measure of the heat energy available. The specific fuel consumption is typically stated in terms of g/kWh, based upon a standard fuel with a lower calorific value (LCV) of 42.7 MJ/kg.
